NEA Big Read Kick-Off Event: Galesburg's Dead Poet Society

Come to Galesburg Public Library to hear famous poets of the past, including Emily Dickinson, talk about their lives and read one of their poems aloud. This event is perfect for fans of Ghosts of Galesburg! Free and for all ages. The Kick-Off is the first opportunity to pick up a copy of this year’s NEA Big Read book: "Profound by Accident: Galesburg Reads Emily Dickinson." This book is special to Galesburg and is also a coloring book. You will definitely want to pick up a copy while supplies last.

Dickinson loved gardening, so celebrate Earth Day by learning more about plants and starting seeds! Trees 4 Galesburg and Knox County Master Gardeners will be in the Storybook Garden (on the corner of Cherry Street and Simmons Street) to answer questions and have hands-on activities.
